Window Film Installation Terms & Conditions
Drying Time
Your vehicle’s new window film will take 3 to 5 days to dry, sometimes longer depending on weather conditions. Keep your vehicle windows up for 3 to 5 days. Because the film is applied wet, you may see haziness, blurriness, small bubbles or a “rainbow effect” in the film for approximately 2 to 3 weeks. For thicker ceramic films, it may take up to 3 or 4 weeks. This is completely normal.
Cleaning Your Tint
Avoid using ammonia-based products to clean the inside of your vehicle's windows, as ammonia can degrade the film adhesive and cause damage. Stay away from abrasive scrubbing pads or wipes, as they can scratch the film. Instead, opt for a soft towel, cloth, or a clean synthetic sponge. Use mild cleaning solutions like warm water and detergent for best results.
Optical Clarity
During the drying process of the window film, you may notice some changes in optical clarity, such as a cloudy or hazy appearance. This is a normal part of the process and will disappear as the moisture evaporates and the film fully bonds to the glass. Drying times can vary significantly depending on the climate, and in some cases, windows that do not receive direct sunlight may take up to four weeks to fully dry.
Cleanliness
We kindly ask that you bring your vehicle in clean condition with as few personal belongings inside as possible. This helps our team ensure a clean installation. While we do our best to clean after the installation, some streaks may appear on the vehicle's exterior. To avoid swirl marks, we do not typically perform a full exterior wash post-installation.
Imperfections
Although we aim for flawless results, it’s important to understand that minor imperfections, such as dust contamination, can be present in almost every window film application. Pre-existing flaws like scratches, water spots, and chips on the glass may become more noticeable after the tint is applied.
Panoramic Roof
We advise against installing dark window film on sunroofs and panoramic roofs. Darker films (below 45-70%) significantly increase the risk of the glass cracking. If you choose to install a darker film, you acknowledge that GT Club Customs is not responsible for any future damage to your glass.
Darkness
In Florida, the legal limit for window tint is 28% for the front two windows and 15% for the rear windows. These percentages represent the amount of light allowed through the glass. Keep in mind that factory-dyed glass on trucks and SUVs typically measures around 15-20%.
Even with the darkest tint available (5%), some visibility into the windows may still occur under certain conditions. Due to differences in interior colors, window shapes, and sizes, one vehicle may appear darker or lighter than another, even with the same shade of tint. This is an important factor to consider when comparing your new tint to previous vehicles you've owned.
Paint Protection Film Terms & Conditions
Paint Protection Film (PPF)
Paint Protection Film (PPF) is an 8mil thick film designed to safeguard your vehicle’s paint from chips, scratches, and swirl marks. It is applied to the exterior of your vehicle and comes with a 10-12 year warranty against yellowing, staining, cracking, blistering, and delamination. However, the warranty does not cover damage from accidents or debris, although your insurance may cover PPF reapplication after repairs.
Drying Time
Your new PPF will take approximately 3-4 weeks to fully cure, depending on weather conditions. Do not wash your vehicle for the first five days after installation. Some small bubbles are normal and will subside over time. Please return the vehicle for an inspection within 1-3 weeks, during which we will address any residual bubbles or lifting edges.
Condition of Vehicle for PPF Installation
It is important that the vehicle does not have any existing paint protection coatings, such as ceramic coatings, as these can affect the adhesion of the film, leading to bubbles and lifting. If your vehicle has a ceramic coating, please inform us, and we will take steps to remove it before the PPF installation. Note that the PPF is designed for OEM factory paint, and GT Club Customs is not liable for any warranty claims on non-OEM surfaces.
Paint Quality
There is a risk that paint may lift during the installation process, particularly on repainted panels or improperly prepped OEM paint. By proceeding with PPF installation, the customer acknowledges this risk and releases GT Club Customs from any liability for damage caused by pre-existing paint imperfections.
Paint Chips
While PPF protects your vehicle from future paint chip damage, it is still possible for rocks or debris to penetrate the film. Existing paint chips may appear as contaminants under the film due to the uneven surface. Touch-up paint may be applied at the discretion of the installer but could affect the installation’s aesthetics. We do not recommend applying touch-up paint before the PPF installation.
Installation Process
PPF kits are computer-cut to fit each panel of your vehicle. These pre-cut kits often stop short of edges, badges, and other components. It is important to understand that PPF acts as a sacrificial layer and is not entirely invisible or matte.
Exposed Edges and Seams
Although we modify patterns to wrap most edges, some cannot be wrapped due to PPF limitations. Custom or tailored-fit installations can reduce exposed edges, but this comes with a 15-20% upcharge. Debris build-up on exposed edges, especially on light-colored vehicles, will be more noticeable. This is more prominent on partial panel installations, which expose more edges. There is no warranty or reapplication for debris build-up over time.
Headlights
We do not recommend applying PPF to headlights due to HID features and exterior coatings. By choosing to install PPF on headlights, the customer acknowledges the risks and waives any claims against GT Club Customs.
Film, Badge, & Decal Removal
Removing film, badges, or decals from your vehicle may cause damage to the paint, glass, or defroster. By proceeding with removal, the customer accepts the risk and releases GT Club Customs from liability for any damage caused during the process.
Imperfections
While we strive for perfect installations, some degree of dust contamination or minor imperfections is inevitable. Pre-existing flaws such as scratches, rock chips, and water spotting may become more noticeable after the PPF is applied. While PPF can cover some minor defects, it may also have slight imperfections, such as orange peel. Older or used vehicles will likely have more imperfections due to age.
Ceramic Coating Terms & Conditions
We would like to offer a complimentary inspection of your vehicle 2-3 weeks after the installation of your ceramic coating. If your vehicle is brought in for inspection after this period, please note that there will be a charge for labor.
Curing Process
Your new ceramic coating will take 2-4 weeks to fully cure, depending on weather conditions. During this period, it’s important to avoid the following:
Water Exposure: Keep your vehicle away from water, rain, sprinklers, and foggy conditions. These can negatively affect the coating’s durability and cause water spotting.
No Washing: Do not wash your vehicle for at least two weeks after receiving your ceramic coating.
Avoid Parking Under Trees: Tree sap, leaves, and branches can cause etching or scratches.
Contaminants: Bird droppings, bug splatter, sap, or pollen should not be left on the car for more than a few days. If your vehicle is exposed to these, use Americana Global Detail Spray, Optimum No Rinse, or a quick detailer (but avoid ceramic sprays) to spot clean the area with a microfiber towel.
Contact Your Installer: If your vehicle is exposed to contaminants or you have concerns, contact your Certified Ceramic Pro Installer for guidance.
Paint Quality
Ceramic coatings do not cover imperfections such as swirls, scratches, or water spots. We can discuss paint correction services to address these issues before coating installation. Repainted surfaces may have adverse reactions to paint correction, and if there isn’t enough clear coat, it could be removed. We can refer you to trusted painters if needed. Please note, we are not liable for any damage to aftermarket or OEM paint that is not properly adhered.
Paint Chips
Ceramic coatings will not hide or prevent paint chips. Rock chips and deep scratches may become more noticeable after the coating is applied. If you're concerned about future rock chips, we recommend discussing paint protection film options.
Water Spots
While some water spots can be removed during the paint correction process, deeply etched water spots may be permanent. Your new ceramic coating is more prone to water spotting during the first few weeks. If heavy water spotting is present, they may reappear after the ceramic coating is installed, which is known as “phantom water spotting.” In such cases, expect additional labor for further correction and reapplication of the coating. To prevent water spots, avoid sprinklers, parking under trees, and dry the vehicle thoroughly after washing. Never wash in direct sunlight.
Caring for Your Ceramic Coating
Ceramic coatings make it easier to maintain your vehicle and keep it looking new for years. However, they are not a substitute for regular maintenance. To ensure optimal performance, follow these care guidelines:
Wash your vehicle regularly, ideally every two weeks. Usage, seasons, and parking conditions may warrant more frequent washes.
Use the two-bucket wash method or rinseless washing with products like Optimum No Rinse.
Touch-free car washes can be used occasionally, but hand washing is preferred. If using a touch-free wash, do so in the mornings or evenings.
Always use clean wash tools such as sponges and microfiber towels.
Wash microfiber towels with a detergent that has no additives or perfumes. Do not use fabric softener. Wash and dry on a cool setting, separate from other laundry.
Use a separate bucket for washing wheels and tires.
Avoid washing in direct sunlight.
Wash from top to bottom, front to back.
Thoroughly dry the vehicle to prevent water spotting.
Avoid using abrasive towels on dry or dirty surfaces.
Do not use car soaps with wax, petroleum distillates, or a pH below 5.0 or above 9.0.
